Our mission is to make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
What to Expect on Your First Visit to FUMC
It's never easy to walk into a place you've never been to, and unfortunately, churches are not immune to this.
We work hard at FUMC to help you feel right at home. So, in order to help you feel a little more comfortable before you even step foot in the door, we'd like to answer some basic questions that you might be thinking about.
Q: Where's the church?
A: We are located one block south of Main Street on
Bus 377 (S Union Street) in Whitesboro. See our Map and Directions page for more help.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Ultimately, we want you to be comfortable, to be YOU. On a Sunday morning with us, you could see everything from business suits or dresses to t-shirts and shorts. There are no expectations to meet.
Q: When do I arrive?
A: Our worship services at 8:15 and 10:30am are similar with blended music. There is a coffee fellowship from 9:00 to 9:30am in Wesley Hall, that you may enjoy after the early service or before attending Sunday School for all ages at 9:30am.
Q: What about my Children?
A:Children are a blessing at FUMC! We invite and encourage you to bring your children with you. Sunday School is available for children pre-Kindergarten through 5th grade in the Children's Education Wing. During Sunday School, your children will receive a fun lesson that focuses on biblical truths and includes music, movement, and more. Children of all ages are also welcome to stay with their parents during worship services. Childcare is available for children younger than three years of age.
During the 10:30am service children are invited to participate in Children's Time with one of our outstanding staff, where they will receive a kid-friendly message. There are activity bags located just outside the sanctuary in the foyer connecting the sanctuary and Wesley Hall on the north side for children to use during the service. Each bag is filled with puzzles, coloring pages, and objects for creative minds. Please return the bags to the foyer after the service so they can be replenished. For children 0-36 months, we have our quality nursery care. We want you to feel comfortable entrusting your infants, crawlers, and toddlers to the care of our loving first aid and CPR certified nursery staff. We are a certified "Safe Sanctuary” church.
A: There is on-street parking surrounding the church campus along with many spaces on the east side of Wesley Hall. Additional off-street parking is available at the post office west of the campus and on Main Street. We have spaces in the Wesley Hall lot that are designated handicap. Guest parking is located on the west side of the sanctuary on S Union Street.
A: Please feel free to with any questions you might have. You can email us or call the church line (903.564.3156) We will return your email or phone call in less than 24 hours.
